Medicine Buddha Empowerment
With His Holiness 34th Gyalwa Menri Trizin Dawa Dargyal Rinpoche
Offered In-Person in Pittsburgh, PA
About the Empowerment
Please join us for the rare opportunity to receive the Medicine Buddha Empowerment from His Holiness 34th Menri Trizin Dawa Dargyal Rinpoche, worldwide spiritual head of the Tibetan Bon tradition.
Through the empowerment, His Holiness will bestow the blessing and lineage connection with the Medicine Buddha who is the healing essence of the Awakened One.
Many thousands of years ago, the Awakened One Tonpa Shenrab taught the Medicine Buddha practice as a powerful skillful means for healing of body, mind, and soul. He offered this teaching and empowerment to restore healing and wellbeing during a wide-spread pandemic in the ancient kingdom of Dawa Ruteng. The Medicine Buddha empowerment carries profound blessings for our time when many beings face illness, disease, and emotional distress. The empowerment helps us connect to the innate pure essence of healing in ourselves. It is a powerful means to clear karmic conditions resulting in illness, misfortune, and emotional challenges, and to strengthen and restore our physical and mental health, joy, and inner peace. Receiving this empowerment from His Holiness 34th Menri Trizin is a profound blessing and a precious opportunity.
Offering to Menri Monastery
All registration fees and donations will be offered to Menri Monastery, the mother monastery of Bon in India. Menri Monastery supports several hundred monks, nuns, and children, including Tibetan refuges and orphans who receive education, shelter, and a loving home at Menri.
Our offering will be particularly dedicated to the nuns at Menri’s Tsongon Ratna Menling nunnery. The nuns are able to obtain the doctor of Philosophy (Geshe) degree at the Bon Dialectic School just like the monks. However, the nunnery is much smaller and has historically received fewer resources. Many of the nuns have gone through great hardship to be able to come to Menri and lead a life of meditation, study, and service.
