About The Teaching

Please join us for this detailed teaching and transmission on the Nang Men Ngag Mar Tri, the Inner Instructions of the Six Lamps, with Tempa Lama. This teaching is part of the fourfold series on Bon Dzogchen according to Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyud offered by Tempa Lama this year.

In the first teaching on Chi Tawa Chi Cho (Outer Instructions) given this March, Tempa Lama explained how to establish the view of Dzogchen and maintain the spontaneous presence of intrinsic awareness without mental fabrication through the practice of Trekchod. The teaching on Sang Wa Rigpa Cher Tong (Secret Instructions) given on March 2829 and April 45 illuminated how naked awareness is experienced through the experiential breakthrough of the fourfold Todgal vision. This teaching on Nang Men Ngag Mar Tri (Inner Instructions) will provide a more detailed explanation of the Six Lamps, which are the main support for experiencing the fourfold Todgal vision. This fall Tempa Lama plans to teach the final part of the fourfold Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyud Dzogchen series, the Yang Sang Ne Luk Puk Cho or Innermost Instruction (Twenty-One Nails).

The teaching of the Six Lamps points out where intrinsic awareness abides, which path it follows, through which door it exits, and in what form it appears. Through Todgal practice with the Six Lamps we gain the ability to recognize the gate for experiencing naked awareness and to subsequently attain full Buddhahood.

In this 3-day teaching, Tempa Lama will explain:
  • The heart essence of each of the Six Lamps
  • How to recognize where intrinsic awareness abides, which path it follows, and how our practice can enable direct, naked experience of the nature of reality at the gate of the eyes
  • How to recognize the boundary of cyclic existence and liberation at the moment of the Bardo
  • How to use the Six Lamps as a skillful means to actualize the ultimate realization of the Buddhahood of the Three Bodies
