Prerequisite Notice

This is the fourth and final part of Tempa Lama’s series on Bon Dzogchen according to Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyud and it is intended for those who have taken the previous parts of the series. In the first teaching Chi Tawa Chi Cho (Outer Instructions), Tempa Lama explained how to establish the view of Dzogchen and maintain the spontaneous presence of intrinsic awareness through the practice of Trekchod. In the second teaching Nang Men Ngag Mar Tri (Inner Instructions), Lama la offered a detailed explanation of the Six Lamps. In the third teaching Sang Wa Rigpa Cher Tong (Secret Instructions) he illuminated how naked awareness is experienced through the experiential breakthrough of the fourfold Todgal vision. In this final teaching, Tempa Lama will offer the Yang Sang Ne Luk Puk Cho or Innermost Instruction, also known as Twenty-One Nails.

About the Teaching

Tempa Dukte Lama will point out the ultimate essence of the natural state through the Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyud practice of the Twenty-one Nails. The reason why the innermost instruction on the realization of the ultimate natural state is taught fourth (after Part I, Part II, and Part III) is because it means that one not only sees the treasure directly but takes it into one’s hands.

Through the practice of the Twenty-One Nails, the fourfold vision of Todgal is brought to the state of exhaustion, and one arrives at the ultimate state of Kuntu Zangpo.
